California Brand, Iron & Resin, Announces Collaboration with Legendary Filmmaker Bruce Brown

Ventura, CA. October 15, 2014 – California lifestyle brand, Iron & Resin, is pleased to announce it is partnering with legendary filmmaker, Bruce Brown, to create a limited collection of apparel and accessories inspired by Brown’s seminal films documenting the golden age of surfing and motorcycles from the ‘50s through the early ‘70s. The collection will include an assortment of all over printed button up wovens, custom knits, board shorts, headwear and graphic tees, featuring imagery and graphics from the films. Due to release in April of next year for Summer 2015, the collection will be available for preview and ordering immediately.

Largely regarded as one of the early pioneers of surf film, Bruce Brown created the films Slippery When Wet, Surf Crazy, Surfing Hollow Days and The Endless Summer, among others. Brown also teamed up with Steve McQueen to produce arguably the best motorcycle documentary of all time, On Any Sunday, in 1971.

“These are the films that influenced my early surfing life and inspired me to get my first motorcycle as a kid, and have had a large impact on the path that I’m still on today”, says Iron & Resin cofounder, Thom Hill. “Now to be partnering with Bruce Brown Films and helping to inspire an entire new generation with his work is a dream come true. For a brand like Iron & Resin that is largely influenced by surfing, motorcycles and California culture of the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s, we couldn’t be more excited to be working with Bruce and sharing something truly special, inspired by his films.”

About Iron & Resin

Born in a small, Southern California, blue-collar beach town, graced with world class point breaks and seaside racetracks, where ghosts of a once towering oil industry still linger in the shadows. Iron & Resin is the brainchild of several friends who, after decades of collective experience building successful clothing brands, decided to turn back the clock and start anew. The result is a small, hand built collection of goods that draws heavily upon the founder’s own lifestyles and experiences.
